Things We Are Involved in...
Welcome to our page of cool stuff we did that I failed to take pictures of...
8th Grade Orientation:
In late April The WEHS Robotics Team participated in the wonder that is middle school orientation day. We talked to incoming Freshman about the new club that the team leadership is promoting which is Engineering Club. The club is designed to be about the students and their interests in Engineering. We hope that this club provides more students with access to their passions or hobbies.
SMARTKids:
Every month the local program, SMARTKids, hosts a workshop to encourage STEM in younger kids. We have the opportunity to work with them and volunteer our kids to help their program. We love working with this organization and love volunteering for them and seeing the kids in these workshops learn and grow in their education.
Wylie Way Christmas:
Every year close to Christmas, Wylie ISD hosts a kid adoption kind of like an angel tree. These children are local children in the community. Every organization or family that wanted to adopt a kid to get Christmas presents for. We adopted a 1 year old girl who wanted dolls, stuffed animals, and ride on toys. We also adopted a 5 year old boy who wanted dinosaurs, a tonka truck, and a warm jacket with a hood. Within the teams we raised enough money to get them all the items that they asked for. The team had an uplifted spirit after helping because we knew that we made our kids' christmas and filled team with joy at being able to have things that they wished for.
